At S-PRO, we’ve built our reputation as one of the most recognized software and AI development companies in Switzerland. But our story has never been limited by geography. We work globally, and today we’re excited to share another step in that journey — strengthening our presence in the U.S. through the launch of the Ukrainian Chapter of Silicon Slopes.
Big news for the Ukrainian tech community. Silicon Slopes, the nonprofit behind Utah’s vibrant startup ecosystem, has officially launched its Ukrainian Chapter, led by Yaroslav Fisiuk, CEO of S-PRO USA.
The original announcement was published by EIN Presswire, and you can read it here: Silicon Slopes Announces Launch of Ukrainian Chapter.
Why Utah and Why Now
When asked what inspired this step, we pointed to the strong bond Utah already has with Ukraine. The state’s Honorary Consul of Ukraine, Jonathan Freedman, has long been a champion of Ukrainian culture and business ties. As Yaroslav explained:
Utah is emotionally and professionally connected to Ukraine. That makes this bridge not just possible, but natural.
Building Bridges Across Borders
For us, the U.S. is not new ground. We already have representatives in America, a growing list of clients, and earlier this year we hosted an AI Breakfast in New York. But creating an official Ukrainian Chapter inside Silicon Slopes takes this presence to an entirely new level.
Launching the Ukrainian Chapter is more than geography. It’s about creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and innovation across borders, said Yaroslav.
We see a unique match between Utah’s fast-growing tech ecosystem and Ukraine’s entrepreneurial energy. Utah is home to top universities, a buzzing startup scene, and a strong culture of innovation. Ukraine brings engineering strength, creative problem-solving, and resilience.
Opportunities for Businesses
The Ukrainian Chapter will open doors for startups, engineers, and founders. The first milestone: a major event in February, where Ukrainian entrepreneurs will have their own platform inside Silicon Slopes’ flagship gathering.
“This is just the beginning,” Yaroslav said. “We’ll be working with both Utah and Ukrainian communities to explore what’s next — from events to cross-border collaboration.”
Facing the Challenges
We’re also realistic about the hurdles. Breaking into the U.S. market is tough. Ukrainian developers are highly skilled, but we need to communicate that value clearly.
Part of our mission is to share Ukrainian working culture — deep involvement, thoughtful execution, and a drive to integrate fully into projects.
It’s not just about coding. It’s about bringing a different mindset and showing how that adds value in the long run.
A Shared Belief
Long-term, the goal is to create a foundation for deeper cooperation. We want to show the value Ukrainians can bring — talent, dedication, and hard work. The vision is simple: build lasting ties that benefit both sides of the Atlantic.
The COO of Silicon Slopes, Tiffany Vail, described this chapter as “an opportunity to expand our global community and strengthen ties that drive innovation and impact.”
And perhaps the best way to sum it up is in Yaroslav’s own words:
At Silicon Slopes, we believe talent has no boundaries. This launch is just the beginning.
