Intro

AMINA Bank, a Swiss-regulated pioneer that bridges traditional and digital finance, has partnered with S-PRO to enhance its crypto banking platform.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, AMINA combines deep banking expertise with cutting-edge digital innovation. As a Swiss-regulated institution, it is a trusted partner in the rapidly evolving digital finance landscape.

Today, AMINA serves individuals, corporates, and institutions worldwide with a comprehensive suite of traditional finance and crypto services; including crypto custody, trading, staking, crypto-backed lending, payments and more.

To further enhance platform performance and user experience, AMINA is working with S-PRO to build a next-generation digital banking architecture. This secure, scalable, API-driven framework streamlines core infrastructure, integrates third-party services seamlessly, and enables faster innovation across AMINA’s ecosystem.

The story behind our partnership

AMINA set out to minimise reliance on third-party services while enhancing the user experience with a modern, integrated digital banking platform.

To achieve this enhanced delivery model, AMINA needed a partner with deep banking platform expertise and a collaborative, hands–on approach. S-PRO delivered on both, bringing a proven track record with more than five complex banking solutions delivered in recent years.

We proposed a step-by-step strategy, starting small and co-developing the target architecture in close collaboration with AMINA’s team. Together, we mapped out the existing landscape, analysing their existing infrastructure, third-party integrations, and aligned the design with AMINA’s unique business requirements.

Rather than rebuilding everything from the ground up, we leveraged key elements of AMINA’s existing data models and infrastructure while reimagining the overall architecture and defining new business domains to support scalability and innovation.

Solution

We worked closely with AMINA’s team through intensive architecture and strategy sessions, exploring integrations, scalability, and long-term growth. The initiative was organised into 3 key workstreams:

Solution Architecture

A collaborative design process where both teams made decisions together, to define a robust and future-ready architecture. The solution integrates AMINA’s core systems, supports evolving business needs, and reduces reliance on external services.

Backend Development

Building an API-driven middle layer, structured into business domains that power client-facing channels, while orchestrating and integrating with AMINA’s core banking infrastructure and third-party services.

A key component of the middle layer was the backend abstraction data layer, which reduces external dependencies, improves performance, and streamlines data flow between different components.

Business Analysis

A strategic bridge between AMINA’s business goals and technical implementation, ensuring requirements were accurately translated into actionable technical plans.

Results

The project is well underway, with strong momentum and several key milestones already achieved.

The first internal release went live in May, marking an important step forward. Since then, the platform has been refined, optimized, and aligned with the roadmap for upcoming launches.
